Princess Beatrice has publicly received a Mother’s Day gift from her stepson after Dara Huang shared a social media post showing her son making a handmade card for the royal.

In an Instagram story posted on Mothering Sunday, Ms Huang uploaded a photograph of Christopher “Wolfie” Woolf Mapelli Mozzi sitting at a table on a train with coloured pencils and paper.

Captioning the image, Ms Huang wrote: “Making his stepmom a mother’s day card”, alongside a pink heart emoji.

She added: “I taught him how to draw a (bee emoji).

The card was intended for Princess Beatrice, who is known by close friends and relatives as “Bea”, as she married Wolfie’s father, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, in 2020.

Mothering Sunday fell on March 15 in the UK this year.

The post offered a rare public glimpse into Beatrice’s role within the blended family she shares with Mr Mapelli Mozzi.

Wolfie is the son of the property developer and designer, Ms Huang, from their previous relationship.

Beatrice became his stepmother when she married Mr Mapelli Mozzi in a private Windsor ceremony in July 2020.

The royal couple have since welcomed two daughters together. Their first child, Sienna Elizabeth Mapelli Mozzi, was born in September 2021, while their second daughter, Athena Elizabeth Rose Mapelli Mozzi, was born on January 22, 2025.

Beatrice has previously spoken publicly about becoming a stepmother.

In 2021, writing about World Book Day, she said it had been a “great honour” to take on the role and described reading with her stepson during lockdown.

The comments remain one of the few direct insights the princess has given into her relationship with Wolfie.

Ms Huang has also discussed the co-parenting arrangement in positive terms. In a 2024 interview, she said Wolfie had “two sets of parents trying to help him on both sides” and added: “The more, the merrier.”

Her remarks were widely interpreted as a sign of the stable relationship between Ms Huang, Beatrice and Mr Mapelli Mozzi as they continue to raise Wolfie across both households.

Wolfie has been seen with Beatrice and the wider Royal Family on a number of public occasions in recent years.

He attended the late Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee Pageant in 2022 and later joined members of the Royal Family for the Christmas Day church service at Sandringham.

He also played a formal role in Beatrice and Mr Mapelli Mozzi’s wedding, serving as his father’s best man and as a page boy.
