Princess Beatrice is grappling with an awkward situation this festive season after receiving an invitation from King Charles to join the Royal Family at Sandringham.

Beatrice and Eugenie find themselves caught between competing loyalties as their parents, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and Sarah Ferguson, remain excluded from royal gatherings following their disgrace.

Sources describe the predicament as both a logistical and emotional ordeal for the siblings.

Beatrice, 37, is experiencing particular strain as she feels compelled to be present in three separate locations on Christmas Day, according to the Mail.

Her preferred choice would be to celebrate at her new Cotswolds residence alongside her interior designer husband, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, their children, and her mother.

However, she simultaneously feels a diplomatic duty to appear with fellow royals at the King's Norfolk estate.

Adding to her dilemma, she also feels drawn to spend what could be a final Christmas at Royal Lodge with her father, ahead of his move away from the property in 2026.

A source explained: "Unless she makes a decision to pick one side and one side only, she will spend a lot of time in the car."

The source added: "Overall, it falls to the princesses to soothe family divisions. They are struggling with Christmas."

Recent family occasions have underscored the awkward dynamics at play.

Andrew and Sarah Ferguson both attended the christening of Beatrice's second daughter, Athena, on Friday at the Chapel Royal in St James's Palace, though they arrived at the ceremony separately.

The occasion marked their first entry into a royal palace since losing their titles in October.

A celebration followed at a nearby pub, hosted by Beatrice, though her parents were notably absent from the gathering.

Beatrice had reportedly indicated she would have welcomed wider Royal Family members, including King Charles, but his proximity to Christmas commitments prevented his attendance.

Princess Eugenie, 35, who has a home in Portugal with husband Jack Brooksbank, is feeling less torn by the family tensions.
