Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi was told earlier this week it would be 'impossible' to inherit his family's luxury Italian estate

Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, husband of Princess Beatrice, has revealed a new project in Milan just days after a family member cast major doubt on his chances of inheriting a historic Italian estate.

Banda Property, Edoardo's luxury design and development company, took to their 255,000 social media followers on Friday to tease their upcoming project in Milan.

The post featured images of the iconic Duomo di Milano alongside clips of construction, plastering, and interior work.

"Milano - Coming... VERY soon," the caption reads.

Edoardo, founder of Banda Property, also commented on the Instagram post with a red love heart.

The announcement comes during a challenging period for the developer. He was warned earlier this week that he had no hope of inheriting the family's luxurious Italian estate.

Dario Mapelli Mozzi, 75, who is a cousin of Edoardo's father Alessandro, told the Mail: "It would be impossible for Edo or his sister to inherit the villa, they have no share in it and there are other more legitimate heirs.

"I know who Edo is but I've never met him."

The villa, once a magnificent residence, has fallen into severe disrepair and is regarded as virtually impossible to flog.

A property expert involved in attempts to sell the luxurious estate noted they had read about a family member who married into the British Royal Family and works as a property developer, suggesting Edoardo could purchase and restore the villa to its former glory.

These hopes were totally dashed, however.

And earlier this year, the 42-year-old's property business suffered a blow when a major project in Australia, which Banda Property had been linked with, collapsed after the company behind the scheme went into administration.

Plans included a high-end beachfront project in Australia called Masthead Ocean Club, which was promoted as a significant development on the Gold Coast.

Banda had worked on the project, which was described as a £125million development, with the collapse representing a setback to the firm’s involvement.

Edoardo married Beatrice in 2020, and the couple share two children: Sienna, four, and Athena, one.

His property development business experienced significant growth since marrying royalty.

He also shares a son, Christopher Woolf "Wolfie" Mapelli Mozzi, with his former partner Dara Huang.
