Princess Anne is set for an overseas tour, just as pressure is building on Kate and William to take their first trip as the Prince and Princess of Wales.
The couple's last overseas tour on behalf of the Government was to the Caribbean in March 2022, when they were the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.
As the Prince and Princess of Wales, they have taken overseas trips to Boston and Jordan, however, these were for personal visits.
This comes as Princess Anne, 73, will travel to the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka from January 10 to 13 .

This was the highest number of engagements completed by a member of the Royal Family for the year.
Kate and William, on the other hand, completed 128 and 172 engagements respectively.
The Waleses have been rumoured to visit Rome in the spring, which would mark the couple's first visit to Italy.

PAMeanwhile, Princess Anne has been invited by the Government of Sri Lanka to participate in events connected with the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Sri Lanka and the UK.
The Princess Royal last visited the country in 1995.
King Charles also visited Sri Lanka three years later in 1998.
