The Prince and Princess of Wales shared relatable parenting moments during their visit to Tobermory on the Isle of Mull on Tuesday.

The royal couple visited Aros Hall community centre, which features the island's only soft play area.

Their two-day visit to the Scottish Isles marked their first joint public engagement since Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis' Easter holidays.

The visit coincidentally fell on William and Kate's 14th wedding anniversary.

Aros Hall is one of two community centres benefiting from a grant from the Waleses' Royal Foundation.

During their visit, Kate spoke to mothers about the facility and connections with other parents.

The royal mother-of-three revealed her children's enthusiasm for such spaces, saying: "We hang out a lot at soft play. Mine absolutely love it."

She told the group she wished there had been a similar place when she had just had Prince George while living in Anglesey.

Kate shared that she had visited the Waitrose cafe to get out of the house and see people during that time.

"You need to bring 'the village' together," the Princess added when hearing about families gathering in the space.

Prince William joined the conversation with a touch of humour, gesturing to his knees to explain his limited participation in soft play activities.

"You still think you can do it yourself, but..." he joked, implying his knees weren't quite up to the task anymore.

The Prince also commented on the pristine condition of the new facility.

"It's not usually this clean," he remarked. "It's beautiful. It's really cosy and fun."

The brand-new set up clearly impressed the royal couple as they toured the community space.

William and Kate became parents with the birth of Prince George in July 2013.

Princess Charlotte, who turns ten on 2 May, arrived in 2015, followed by Prince Louis in April 2018.

The Prince and Princess of Wales are renowned for being hands-on parents.

They fit their public engagements around the school run and their children's extra-curricular activities.

While George is being prepared for his future destiny as King, William and Kate are said to want to give their children as normal an upbringing as possible.

This approach continues until duty calls for the young royals.
