Prince William looks set to travel to the US to support England at the 2026 World Cup.

The World Cup will run next summer from June 11 to July 19.

The Prince of Wales is expected to attend England’s third group game against Panama on June 27 due to its close proximity to the 250th anniversary of the US Declaration of Independence celebrations on July 4.

Prince William may also attend England’s first knockout game of the tournament, if they qualify from Group L, as the team enters a crucial period of fixtures at the competition.

The Three Lions’ last-32 fixture will take place between June 28 and July 3.

Prince William’s attendance at the World Cup could also set up a reunion with Prince Harry, who has been living in the US since 2020.

The siblings have maintained no contact since Prince Harry's memoir was published in January 2023, yet both intend to support England and the other Home Nations during the tournament.

Scotland has secured their place in the competition, whilst one of Wales and Northern Ireland could qualify through the play-off in March 2026.

The princes will want to witness the football action in person, setting the stage for a meeting on American soil.

The Duke of Sussex has previously visited SoFi Stadium in LA, which will stage eight tournament matches and sits nearest to his Montecito residence in California.

Security teams have commenced preparations to evaluate potential risks and coordinate logistics, though specific match venues remain undetermined until Friday's group stage draw.

The Prince of Wales is known to have a strained relationship with Prince Harry, with the pair avoiding each other at several events over the last two and a half years.

The current bitter and broken relationship between the King’s two sons stems from the Duke of Sussex’s decision to launch multiple public attacks on the Royal Family from 2021 to 2023.

Prince Harry did several TV interviews, firing digs at the monarchy alongside his wife, Meghan Markle, with the most notable taking place in March 2021 with Oprah Winfrey.

The Sussexes’ interview with Ms Winfrey sent shockwaves across the world and led to Prince William telling journalists: “We're very much not a racist family.”

The Prince of Wales’s frustration with his younger brother grew stronger over the following two years as Prince Harry discussed royal matters in a Netflix documentary in 2022 before issuing a tell-all autobiography in January 2023.

The memoir, which contained several attacks on key members of the Royal Family, including William’s wife, Princess Kate, was the most damaging blow in the feud between the brothers.

Since then, Prince William has kept his distance from Prince Harry and has not been involved in talks with the Duke of Sussex when he has visited the UK.
