Prince Harry is believed to be considering making a documentary about his late mother, Princess Diana, as part of his and Meghan Markle’s renewed deal with Netflix.

The hypothetical documentary has been rumoured for a 2027 release, commemorating three decades since Diana’s tragic death in 1997.

Harry and Meghan’s renewed arrangement with Netflix operates as a "first look" agreement, granting the platform priority access to the Sussexes' proposed content.

A media industry insider suggested Netflix would eagerly pursue such a project.

"If Harry wants to do it then Netflix will bite his hand off,” they told The Sun.

Such a programme could represent an opportunity for Netflix to secure another high-profile production with the couple.

The streaming service has not matched the audience numbers generated by "Harry & Meghan" with subsequent Sussex productions.

Representatives for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex declined to comment when approached by GB News.

Prince Harry, who lost his mother at age twelve, has previously participated in documentaries honouring Diana's memory.

He appeared in two programmes commissioned for the 20th anniversary of her passing in 2017: "Diana, Our Mother: Her Life and Legacy" and "Diana, 7 Days".

These productions featured personal interviews with both Harry and his brother William, incorporating previously unseen photographs and family footage.

The documentaries attracted millions of viewers and achieved significant ratings success.

In his autobiography "Spare", Harry revealed the lasting trauma of walking behind Diana's coffin and described how he initially struggled to accept her death, sometimes imagining she had simply gone into hiding.

The Sussexes new agreement with Netflix encompasses several other confirmed productions, including a second series of Meghan's lifestyle programme.

The long-awaited return of With Love, Meghan will return to screens on Tuesday, August 26.
