The Duke of Sussex revealed he wants 'reconciliation' with his estranged Royal Family

Prince Harry has been blasted as "out of touch with reality" by royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams following his bombshell BBC interview.

In the interview with the BBC, the Duke of Sussex revealed he wants "reconciliation" with his estranged Royal Family.

The Duke of Sussex spoke candidly about the rift with his father, King Charles, saying: "He won't speak to me because of this security stuff."

"I would love reconciliation with my family, there's no point in continuing to fight anymore."

Royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams said: "This is a case against the Home Office, and it's being handled on a case-by-case basis. The Sussexes knew perfectly well that when they stepped down from full-time royal engagements and went their own way, they would lose automatic security."

"In my opinion, there was a case for him having VIP status, but it’s been decided that won’t apply.

LATEST DEVELOPMENTS:

"Now we know he’s deeply emotional—he says he’s devastated, and he talks about not communicating with his father, not speaking at all."

"There’s no precedent for this anywhere. And as for involving the Prime Minister—well, that’s simply ridiculous."

"What you’re seeing is someone who appears to be somewhat out of touch with reality."

"I don’t mean to be unkind, but I’m referring specifically to a recent Daily Telegraph front-page headline, which reported that Harry believed this was some kind of ploy—that taking away his automatic police protection was a tactic to prevent him and Meghan from stepping back from royal duties.

That, to me, is clearly nonsensical. And then we were told that the judge's decision was influenced by evidence heard in camera. But since we don’t know what that evidence was, I can’t comment on it."

"It’s all quite extraordinary. If he truly wants reconciliation, the one thing he must surely understand is that it cannot be achieved through the press or any news media.

"It should be done privately. And the Sussexes just don’t seem to grasp that. It’s quite bizarre."

Harry explained to the BBC: "I can't see a world in which I would bring my wife and children back to the UK."

The Duke of Sussex said the decision makes it "impossible" for him to take his family back to Britain.

The security issue has become a major point of contention between Harry and the Royal Family.

Despite the ongoing tensions, Harry revealed he has "forgiven" his family.

Speaking from his California home, he acknowledged that "there have been so many disagreements" between him and his relatives.

In response to the Duke of Sussex’s failed legal challenge over his security in the UK, a Buckingham Palace spokesman said: "All of these issues have been examined repeatedly and meticulously by the courts, with the same conclusion reached on each occasion."
