The Duke and Duchess of Sussex moved to the US in 2020

Prince Harry's new family nickname has been revealed after Meghan Markle called him as "Papa Sussex" in a recent social media post.

This marks the first known instance of Prince Harry being referred to by the "Papa Sussex" moniker publicly.

The Duchess of Sussex shared the photograph on Instagram on Sunday to commemorate International Women's Day, with the image captured at a beach close to the couple's Montecito residence.

The duke and duchess have called the California property home for roughly six years, having relocated there after stepping back from royal duties in 2020.

The photograph depicted the duchess embracing and kissing her four-year-old daughter as they sat together on rocks overlooking the ocean.

Meghan accompanied the image with the words: "For the woman she will one day be… Happy International Women's Day."

Neither Prince Harry nor the couple's son Archie appeared in the shot, which was taken from behind in keeping with the family's approach to protecting their children's privacy.

The Sussex title holds deep meaning for Meghan. Speaking to People, she explained: "It's our shared name as a family, and I guess I hadn't recognised how meaningful that would be to me until we had children."

She added: "I love that that is something that Archie, Lili, H and I all have together. It means a lot to me."

Meanwhile, Meghan's lifestyle venture As Ever has parted ways with Netflix following its first year of operation.

The streaming giant confirmed the arrangement was designed from the outset as a launch vehicle rather than an ongoing partnership.

A Netflix spokesman told GB News: "Meghan's passion for elevating everyday moments in beautiful yet simple ways inspired the creation of the As Ever brand, and we are glad to have played a role in bringing that vision to life."

Representatives for As Ever acknowledged the separation, stating the brand had experienced "meaningful and rapid growth" and was now prepared to operate independently, with "an exciting year ahead."

The duke and duchess are also gearing up for their first return to Australia in more than seven years, with the pair expected to arrive in mid-April.

A spokesman confirmed that the visit will encompass private, business and philanthropic engagements.

Sydney and Melbourne are both set to be on the itinerary, though full details remain under wraps.

The trip will see them travel as private citizens rather than in an official royal capacity.

Their previous Australian visit in 2018 formed part of a 16-day tour as newlyweds, during which they announced Meghan's pregnancy with Archie.

Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet will remain in the US for the Sussexes' upcoming trip.
