The Duke and Duchess of Sussex made a surprise appearance on the TV special

Prince Harry opened up in a new documentary special about "losing it" during a trip to Disney World as a young child.

The special, titled The Happiest Story On Earth: 70 Years Of Disneyland, aired over the weekend and featured Meghan Markle alongside the Duke of Sussex.


The couple are known for their love of Disney, having taken their daughter, Princess Lilibet, to Disneyland California for her fourth birthday.

The late Princess Diana took a young Prince William and Prince Harry to Disney World Florida in 1993.

He said: "I remember it very, very well. I remember losing it as a kid with all the characters. Like, losing it."

Meghan said the amusement park was "more accessible" to her due to being born and raised in Southern California, but it was "still the biggest treat in the world."

The Duchess of Sussex also spoke about a trip to Disneyland during high school with her friends after graduation.

She quipped: "I don't even know why they let us do that."

Prince Harry jokingly added: "That sounds like a lot of fun. Can you do that in your forties?"

During Princess Lilibet's birthday trip to the theme park, the Duke of Sussex admitted the children were amazed by what they saw.

"They're like, 'This is amazing!'" the father-of-two recalled.

He continued: "Like, 'Guys, this isn't even the front of it. Prepare yourself. You're about to be blown away.'"

Harry further expressed in the 20/20 interview: "To see the kids throw themselves into these experiences when they have no idea what they're walking into - it was amazing.

"And it brings out the kid in you again."

Meghan posted a montage on Instagram of her family enjoying time at Disneyland: "Thank you @disneyland for giving our family two days of pure joy!"
