The Duke of Sussex loves the popular American TV series

Prince Harry once admitted that he felt like the character Chandler from Friends, who was played by the late Matthew Perry.

The TV star was found dead at his Los Angeles home aged 54 on Saturday, October 28, 2023.

In his biography Spare, the Duke of Sussex discussed his love for the sitcom Friends in great detail.

He claimed that during the summer of 2013, he binge-watched the show to help him deal with crippling panic attacks.

Harry claimed to have seen every episode of Friends that summer, claiming to have connected with a major character.

The duke said he "was a Chandler," a reference to his cheekier and funnier side.

He also confessed to having a crush on the actress Courtney Cox, who played Monica.

Harry talked about an occasion in 2016 when he ended up staying at Cox's house.

The 39-year-old wrote in Spare: "I found the idea of crashing at Monica's highly appealing and amusing."

Prince Harry, who called himself a "Friends fanatic," continued by acknowledging he was infatuated with the actress.

He added: "I was still confused because… she was Monica. And I was a Chandler.

"I wondered if I'd ever work up the courage to tell her.

"Was there enough tequila in California to get me that brave?”

Actor Matthew Perry, who died on Saturday at the age of 54, portrayed Chandler in the television series.

Chandler was referred to as the "comedian" of the friendship group.

He adopted his larger-than-life sense of humour as a coping mechanism for his parents' divorce when he was younger - similar to Harry whose parents separated when he was eight-years-old.
