The Duke of Sussex wrote about the urgent need to tackle the climate crisis

Prince Harry has written a foreword for an upcoming National Geographic book set to be released in March.

Okavango and the Source of Life by Steve Boyes featured over 100 photos and detailed maps about the explorer's journeys to the source of the Okavango Delta.

The Duke of Sussex, 41, has long discussed his love for Africa, first travelling to the continent in 1997, shortly after the death of his mother, Princess Diana.

Harry previously said of Africa: "I feel more like myself there than anywhere else in the world."

The 41-year-old reflects on his past journeys to Africa and on the work of the National Geographic Okavango Wilderness Project (NGOWP).

NGOWP is aiming to protect an ecosystem that supports Earth's largest elephant population, as well as hundreds of bird species and lions.

Harry writes about how damaging climate change is to the planet and the urgent need for action, echoing words similar to those of his father.

The duke jots down how he heard about the NGOWP and how he wanted to give them his backing.

Harry and Meghan Markle travelled to Botswana in 2016, early in their relationship.

The couple later visited Africa with their son, Prince Archie, as part of a royal tour.

Speaking in April 2024, the duke said: "Africa's in my heart, and Africa's in my soul.

"I first went there when I was 12, 13 years old, and after so many years, I wanted to give back to it because it had given me so much.

"The vast open space, the cultures, the community, the people, the wildlife, just the freedom was a huge piece of why I loved Africa so much."

Okavango and the Source of Life is set to go on sale on March 3 and is available for preorder now.

Next spring, the duke is also set to deliver a speech on "reshaping the future" of the digital world at a global summit.

Harry has been confirmed as a headline speaker at the International Association of Privacy Professionals Global Summit 2026, set to take place in the American capital from March 30 to April 2.

The announcement, made to mark Data Privacy Day, will see the prince take to the main stage at the Washington DC gathering, which centres on privacy matters, artificial intelligence governance and cybersecurity legislation.

Organisers revealed the news on social media, stating: "In honour of Data Privacy Day, we're excited to announce that Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex, will join us on the main stage at IAPP Global Summit 2026."

In his keynote address, the duke will discuss whether modern digital technology is dividing or bringing society together, and what individuals can do to influence its future direction.

Harry will deliver his remarks in his capacity as a humanitarian and mental health advocate, roles that have defined much of his public work since stepping back from senior royal duties.
