Food prepared during the Sussexes' visit went to organisations including Los Angeles Mercy Housing, Pico Union Project and PATH.
The Archewell Foundation emphasised its dedication to "putting compassion into action" and "serving and uplifting communities locally and globally".
"As we head into the holiday season, we celebrate those working every day to ensure that no one is left behind and where the needs of our neighbors are met," the Foundation stated.
Food stylist Aliza J Sokolow, who began her career with Jamie Oliver's Food Revolution initiative, described the volunteer session as "a wonderful and warm morning" on social media.

The community kitchen operates year-round to address food insecurity whilst building connections and fostering a sense of belonging amongst participants.
Away from their charitable endeavours, the Duchess shared her personal holiday preparations on Instagram on Wednesday, posting a rapid-motion video of herself preparing a turkey.
The 44-year-old rubbed various seasonings onto the raw bird before finishing with freshly grated lemon zest.
"Let the 'game' begin. Get it? #momjokes," she captioned the footage, making a pun about turkeys being classified as game birds.

The video, accompanied by Bob Dylan's "Turkey Chase", showed her mixing spices in a bowl before coating the turkey, though notably without using butter.
This marks her second public turkey preparation display, following a 2016 Instagram post where she celebrated achieving "a pretty perfect Thanksgiving turkey".
The Duchess recently revealed that her family harvests sage from their Montecito garden for their annual Thanksgiving feast, describing it as one of her preferred flavours.
In her As Ever newsletter, she detailed family walks through their garden with Prince Archie, six, and Princess Lilibet, four, whilst their dogs played and Prince Harry tended to their beehives.

She characterised these moments as "sun-drenched" experiences that transformed ordinary garden strolls into something special.
The 44-year-old previously advised hosts to prepare vegetables and herbs in advance, suggesting children could participate in the preparations.
She also recommended accepting assistance from guests, stating: "You don't get the gold star for doing everything."
