Meghan Markle doesn't appear in the trailer for Harry's new Netflix show

Prince Harry is attempting to “change the narrative” with his latest PR drive, GB News' Royal Correspondent Cameron Walker has said.

Netflix yesterday unveiled its latest joint venture with the Duke, a documentary series based on the Invictus Games.

The multi-sport event, first held in 2014, was founded by Harry for wounded, injured and sick servicemen and women.

It comes amid questions over the Duke and Duchess’ relationship with the streaming giant which have arisen after the termination of their lucrative partnership with Spotify.

The music streaming service felt short changed by Meghan Markle’s 12-part podcast series Archetypes, which failed to live up to its billing.

The Duke of Sussex appeared in a trailer for the new series, named Heart of Invictus, where he said the Games’ focus is on “recovery and how to be part of a community again”.

LATEST DEVELOPMENTS

Walker, Harry is trying to “get back” to his old self, having become a “divisive” figure.

He told Martin Daubney and Pip Thomson: “This has been an incredibly successful initiative. Founded in 2014 and it happens every two years.

“It involves many different countries. If you remember, there was a lovely video involving the late Queen and the Obamas with the ‘mic drop’ moment which tried to pit the UK and the US against each other.

“This is the first time this event has taken place since the publication of his memoir, Spare, and this documentary is perhaps trying to change the narrative perhaps and put the spotlight back on what Harry is known for.”

Harry’s memoir, Spare, featured a series of bombshells on his personal and family life, including details on his time spent in the military.

The Duke boasted about a killing spree in Afghanistan which resulted in 25 dead Taliban soldiers lying in his wake.

GB News presenter Martin Daubney said Harry may have “broken a code” by opting to disclose such a detail.

Walker added that the documentary may be a step in “changing the minds” of veterans who may have had their view soured as a result.

"He is trying to shine a light on the plight of veterans and their rehabilitation”, he said.

“Harry has always been trying to shine a light on mental health, particularly in the veterans’ community.

“I think to be honest, we will have to wait and see what the response is from veterans and soldiers who watch this documentary and see if they can change their minds, or indeed make up their own minds.”

Harry's limited series is set for release on Netflix on August 30.
