The Duke of Sussex returned to the United Kingdom to mark his father’s Coronation in May

Prince Harry will meet with King Charles for “peace talks”, a well-placed source has claimed.

The Duke of Sussex is due to stop off in London next month as he travels from California to Germany for the Invictus Games.

Meghan Markle, who will join her husband in Dusseldorf, is not expected to attend Prince Harry’s meeting with King Charles.

King Charles is due to return to Buckingham Palace at the same time as his son’s continental trip.

The pair could meet in an attempt to smooth out tensions within the Royal Family.

Relations between the Sussexes and the remainder of the Firm became increasingly fraught following the release of the Duke’s Megxit memoir 'Spare' in January.

The couple’s Netflix docuseries also intensified the split between Buckingham Palace and Montecito.

Staff are preparing for planned “peace talks” on September 17 ahead of Charles’ trip to France, a source told OK! Magazine.

The insider claimed: “King Charles is due to return to London from Balmoral in the middle of September which ties in with the end of Harry’s Invictus Games trip to Dusseldorf.

“The King has a scheduled official visit to France on September 20 so has a few days to spare in London to meet his son.

“Staff are trying to fine-tune the details as we speak.”

King Charles is expected to make it very clear he was upset by his son’s claims in Spare.

The 74-year-old monarch was particularly upset about Harry’s comments about his wife Queen Camilla.

Prince William could remain harder to win over due to his brother’s remarks about his wife Princess Kate.

Despite the father-of-two potentially ironing out issues with Charles, the visit will come after Harry plays a central role at the 2023 Invictus Games.

The Duke of Sussex is expected to give a closing speech for the sixth-ever Invictus Games.

Meghan will also likely moderate a farewell show for families and competitors on the competition’s final day.
