Prince Harry poked fun at John Travolta for “dining out” on the story of dancing with his mother, Princess Diana, in his acceptance speech at an awards ceremony in California on Friday.
The duke hugged Travolta and clapped him on the shoulder as he accepted his award as a living legend of aviation.
Prince Harry joked: “I was one year old when you danced with my mum. As you’ve told everybody here and continue to dine out on that probably every single night.”

Harry added: “But look at us now. It’s great. So if we’re not going to dance together, we’ll fly together.”
The award ceremony on Friday night was the prince’s first public appearance since the medical news about his father, the King and his sister-in-law, Kate was announced.
The prince put his hand up as if to jokingly dismiss Travolta to audience laughter at the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles and said: “Thank you, that’s it, we’re done.”
The prince was awarded the aviation award by the recommendation of Travolta for his role as an Apache helicopter pilot in the army and for his commitment to supporting veterans in several charities.

The Hollywood star asked Harry: “What can you remember about your first flight?”
To which the prince teased: “It’s classified.”
The Duke of Sussex wore a black dinner jacket and bow tie with a white shirt to accept his award and placed a silver medal with a red, blue and white striped ribbon around his neck.
At the awards, Harry posed with a fellow prince, Mario-max Schaumburg-Lippe, a German royal who is the cousin of the recently abdicated Queen of Denmark, Margrethe II.

Prince Mario-Max posted a photo of himself and harry on social media with the caption: “Congratulations to HRH Prince Harry for his VERY MUCH DESERVED Living Legends of Aviation Award.”
The Danish prince voiced his support for the duke after his nomination caused controversy amongst military figures.
Critics argued that the prince has been awarded because of “who he is-not what he did.”
Despite some speculation about his wife, Meghan, attending the awards ceremony, the Duke of Sussex was flying solo on Friday night.
