Prince Harry “misses elements of UK life” as he gears up for another Christmas across the pond in the US with Meghan Markle, according to a royal commentator.
The former working royal had been a staple of Christmas celebrations at Sandringham, including the walk to St Mary Magdalene Church for the annual festive service, but has been absent since 2018.
According to the commentator, Harry will likely have conflicted feelings about the holiday as he is determined to make it special for his own children, Prince Archie, six, and Princess Lilibet, four, whilst being away from his UK family.
Former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond revealed: “He’s on record as saying he misses elements of his UK life, including the banter, pub culture, friends, and family gatherings.

“And he says he still has a deep love for Britain so the images of his family making that familiar walk to Sandringham Church might, indeed, pull at his heartstrings.
“But maybe not for long. When he’s enjoying Christmas in the warm Californian sunshine, with his wife, children and mother-in-law, the attraction of an often grey, damp Norfolk might fade a little.”
Harry and his brother Prince William have had a fractured relationship for many years, with the pair reportedly estranged, something that Bond believes King Charles will be “sad” about.
She continued: “I imagine that for King Charles, there will always be a sadness that both his boys and their children aren’t with him at this special time of year.
“His two daughters-in-law often speak about love, kindness and the importance of family - and yet William and Harry remain as far apart as ever.
“But I don’t imagine Harry would readily swap the relaxed, chilled out California celebration for the formality of a royal Christmas.

“So, there might be a moment of nostalgia, but I think Harry will happily throw himself into an American style family day with his little ones,” she told the Mirror.
The Sussexes' second official Christmas card was leaked on social media ahead of its scheduled release on Friday.
GB News understands that the Christmas card was set to be unveiled around 4pm on Friday, but appeared on social media just after midday.

Just before midday, the couple shared the first Christmas card on the news section of their official website.
The festive greeting read: "On behalf of the Office of Prince Harry and Meghan, Duke and Duchess of Sussex, and Archewell, we wish you a very happy holiday season and a joyful new year."
Rather than include a photo of the couple together, this year the Sussexes opted to include a two-minute video of their engagements as part of the digital Christmas card.

The second Christmas card features a picture of Meghan and Harry at the Invictus Games which took place in Vancouver earlier this year.
Meghan can be seen holding onto Harry's arm as the couple walk through the snow at the event.
