The Duke of Sussex recently reunited with his father King Charles, for the first time after almost a year and a half

Jennie Bond has warned that Prince Harry's recent remarks about his father King Charles will cause "dismay" within royal circles.

Speaking to GB News, the royal commentator expressed concern after the Duke of Sussex defended his decision to discuss private family matters publicly.

Following a recent meeting with King Charles at Clarence House, Prince Harry declared his "conscience is clear" and that his "focus" is on their relationship.

The Duke also told The Guardian that his controversial autobiography Spare was "done in the best possible way".

Discussing the remarks on GB News, Ms Bond revealed her belief that Harry had been directly questioned about "airing his dirty laundry" and had taken issue with the characterisation.

She suggested the Prince would have been more prudent to avoid responding to such personal queries.

Ms Bond criticised Harry's apparent inability to resist answering personal questions, noting that whilst he claimed to have delivered a "difficult message" in the best manner possible, she disagreed with his approach.

"Family matters like this are far better resolved in private, and I hope that going forward, that is what he will do," she stated.

Despite her criticism, Ms Bond acknowledged Harry's recent triumph during his UK appearance.

She described how he "played an absolute blinder" and was "brilliant and an absolute natural with the crowds" during his visit last week, noting the enthusiastic reception he received from those present.

She revealed that Harry expressed interest in securing the "halfway house" arrangement he and Meghan initially sought five years ago.

Ms Bond indicated he doesn't desire a permanent return to Britain or full-time royal duties, but wants flexibility to visit whilst maintaining his California residence.

The commentator highlighted Harry's reference to King Charles as "my dad" rather than his usual "father" or "papa", interpreting this as a sign of genuine affection.

She noted Harry's stated intention to "put my focus now for the next year or so on my dad", suggesting a renewed commitment to rebuilding their relationship.

Ms Bond addressed the complex dynamics surrounding Prince William's position, explaining that the heir to the throne has largely excluded Harry from his thoughts and emotions in recent years.

She attributed this to William's numerous personal challenges, suggesting he hasn't had capacity to address their fractured relationship.

She told GB News: "I don't think the noise about him wanting to educate his children in this country has any veracity at all.

"I don't think Meghan is going to rush back to be here at all, if push comes to shove, she probably will, but her life is in California.

"And he made very clear in that same interview that he is very happy in his life, very happy with his family, very happy in California.

"He just wants to be able to come back and reconcile with his father and with his brother, if that's possible. And it might be one day, you know, it really might be, but it's a long way off."
