Prince George set to join Prince William in Germany as young royal skips Wimbledon final

Last year, William, Kate, George and Charlotte all attended the Wimbledon men's singles final together.

The Prince of Wales confirmed on Friday he would miss the event as he would be travelling to Germany to watch the Euro 2024 final.

George's absence at Wimbledon appears to signal that he will join his father in Berlin.

Prince William is the President of the Football Association and has already attended two England matches at the tournament this summer.

The Prince of Wales brought George with him to watch the FA Cup final between Manchester City and Manchester United at Wembley in May.

Prince George is known to be a football fan and is thought to have preferred to watch Gareth Southgate's team bid to become the first England team to win the Euros.

If England win the tournament the squad will meet with King Charles and Prince William at Buckingham Palace on Tuesday for a special celebration.

George and Charlotte's youngest sibling Prince Louis was not in attendance at Wimbledon this afternoon.

Louis, 6, is not expected to join William and George in Germany to watch the football final.

Last year, Kate admitted at the men's singles final that Louis was left "very upset" at missing the event.

Prince Louis has never been to Wimbledon and his absence will continue for at least another year.

The Princess of Wales is making just her second public appearance of 2024 today and will present the trophies to the winner and runner-up of the match.

The royal last stepped out on June 15 at Trooping the Colour, her first public engagement since being diagnosed with cancer earlier this year.
