Prince George’s godfather has sent wedding invites for a summer ceremony this year.

Hugh Grosvenor is set to marry his long-term partner Olivia Henson in June at Chester Cathedral.

The 33-year-old seventh Duke of Westminster is reported to have sent out invites to some senior working royals.

According to The Daily Mail, the Prince and the Princess of Wales are expected to attend the special ceremony in June.

Prince George is also hinted to play a significant role in the wedding as Grosvenor is the future King’s godfather.

Grosvenor played a part in King Charles’s Coronation last year by carrying one of the Royal Standards.

Other anticipated guests include the Duke and Duchess of Kent, the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester and Princess Alexandra.

The duke is also close friends with Prince Harry, but questions remain over whether the Duke of Sussex will attend as his daughter Princess Lilibet’s birthday is on the same day.

Grosvenor is the third child of the late Gerald Grosvenor, 6th Duke of Westminster and his wife Natalie.

The duke descends from Nicholas I of Russia on his mother’s side.

According to the Guardian, Grosvenor is the third richest person in the UK and owns more than 300 acres of land in Mayfair and Belgravia.

The Duke of Westminster is thought to be worth up to £9.8billion.

Before his engagement to Henson, he was regarded as the country’s “most eligible bachelor.”

However, last year the duke announced his engagement to Henson, who works for a London-based ethical food company called Belazu.

The couple met through mutual friends in London and dated for two years before Hugh proposed in April 2023.

At the time of Grosvenor’s proposal, the couple stated: “The Duke of Westminster and Miss Olivia Henson are delighted to announce they are engaged to be married. The couple, who have been together for two years, recently became engaged at the Duke’s family home at Eaton Hall in Cheshire.”
