Prince Edward and Sophie appeared to have missed a Royal Family event for a ski trip.

The Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh travelled to Switzerland to enjoy a skiing holiday at the St Moritz resort.

As a consequence, they missed the memorial service for the late King Constantine of Greece, which was held in St George's Chapel.

Prince Edward and Sophie, both 59, were joined by Suzie Watt and Sir Redmond Watt, the Royal Hospital's Governor, in the Swiss Alps.

On Saturday, the royal couple arrived without their children, Lady Louise Windsor, 20, and James, Earl of Wessex, 16.

Edward and Sophie looked happy as they showed off their skiing skills and enjoyed the chairlifts.

According to reports, they took a £42million Dassault Falcon 7X to travel to the exclusive resort.

The luxurious jet features high-speed internet, five convertible beds, a Blu-Ray entertainment system, and two bathrooms.

The royal couple took black Range Rovers after they landed to transport them to the ski enclave.

Meanwhile, Queen Camilla led members of the British Royal Family at a memorial service for the late Greek monarch.

Royals that attended included Prince Andrew, Sarah Ferguson, Princess Beatrice, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, Zara Tindall, Mike Tindall and Princess Anne.

Princess Eugenie, 33, was mysteriously absent from the service along with her husband Jack Brooksbank.

King Charles did not attend as he continues to receive cancer treatment, and Prince William also pulled out at the last minute, citing personal reasons.

King Constantine's wife, Queen Anne-Marie, walked into St George's Chapel beside Queen Camilla.

Several members of the Greek Royal Family also attended the private memorial service.
