Two of the programme's most enduring performers greeted His Royal Highness: Michelle Collins, who portrays Cindy Beale, and Adam Woodyatt, in his role as Ian Beale.
Both actors have become fixtures of the long-running series, with their characters central to many of the show's most memorable storylines over the years.
The Duke explored the behind-the-scenes operations and toured the sets where the popular drama is filmed, gaining insight into the production process of one of British television's most watched programmes.

The Duke subsequently toured the production facilities for The Thomas Crown Affair, a film slated for release in 2027, observing the active filmmaking process at the historic studios.
During his visit, His Royal Highness engaged with staff members and received a comprehensive overview of Elstree's remarkable hundred-year history.
The Duke spoke about the vital role the creative industries play in the United Kingdom, acknowledging their significant economic and cultural impact.
His visit concluded with His Royal Highness unveiling a commemorative plaque, formally marking both his presence at the studios and the commencement of Elstree's centenary year celebrations.

The visit comes as Edward prepares to support King Charles during a Windsor Castle reception on June 12.
The event will celebrate recipients of The King's Award for Enterprise.
Edward, the Duchess of Edinburgh and Princess Anne will accompany the monarch at the prestigious event in the absence of Queen Camilla.
The reception will celebrate 197 British businesses that have been recognised for their achievements across four categories: innovation, international trade, sustainable development and promoting opportunity through social mobility.

Last month, the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh visited the Inner Hebrides, located off the west coast of Scotland, last week to learn more about life in remote island communities.
