A top Republican campaigner has demanded a full "wide-ranging investigation" into the Royal Family as Prince Andrew faces a Metropolitan Police probe.
Speaking to GB News, CEO of Republic Graham Smith said the monarchy must "put the country first" and "open all the documents".
The Metropolitan Police have confirmed they are "actively looking into" claims that Prince Andrew sought to have his police protection officer investigate his late accuser, Virginia Giuffre.
"We are aware of media reporting and are actively looking into the claims made," they told The People’s Channel.

Graham Smith has called for an wide-ranging investigation' into the Royal Family as Prince Andrew faces Met probe

Discussing the latest scandal to rock Prince Andrew, Mr Smith told GB News: "The accusations about putting pressure on the police officer, if the police officer had disclosed information to Andrew, he would have been committing an offence and had Andrew persuaded him to do that, Andrew would be committing an offence.
"So that's another accusation on top of many others. He still remains accused of serious sexual offences going back to 2000, and there's a long list of serious criminal accusations against Andrew."
Criticising the Royal Family, the Republic CEO claimed that the idea that the family were unaware of the accusations surrounding the ex-Duke of York "does not stand up".
He said: "It does not stand up to think that the royals, William and Charles and others did not know the detail of this. It does not.
LATEST DEVELOPMENTS:
"It is not believable that they haven't done their own investigation, that they weren't aware of emails to Epstein of complaints about, from the police, about him trying to put pressure on them."
Calling for a "wide-ranging" investigation into the entire Royal Family, Mr Smith stated: "What we really need is a wide-ranging investigation into the Royal Family, what they knew, what their links were, why they've spent the last two decades covering up for Andrew.
"Because even now, every step of the way, whenever this hits the headlines, it's the absolute bare minimum that they do to put distance between Andrew and themselves."
He added: "And it's never been about justice for the victims of sexual abuse. It's about powerful and rich men protecting themselves against accusations against other powerful and rich men, and that is scandalous."

Taking aim at King Charles and Prince William, Mr Smith urged the royals to "put the country first" and uncover any documentation.
He said: "William wants to be our next head of state, Charles is our head of state, they should be put in the country first.
"And they should be opening up all of the documents, making sure that the police have complete freedom to make their own judgments about criminal investigations.
"And our leadership, political leadership, whilst our monarchy is in crisis, have simply said nothing because they're too gutless to go up against the royals."
Prince Andrew has consistently and strongly denied the allegations made against him by Virginia Giuffre.
