A young Scout asked if Melania Trump was “the next princess” during her joint engagement with Princess Kate at Frogmore House today.
The Princess of Wales and the First Lady met Squirrel Scouts from Lewisham with Chief Scout Dwayne Fields, where activities included a parachute game, leaf painting and building bug hotels.
Mr Fields said: "The Princess of Wales is absolutely incredible with our young people.
"I’ve seen her work with them before — she interacts very personably, she loves to exchange stories, and she loves to talk to them and hear the same.

"The princess always mentions her young children. It’s clear that as a mum, that’s something really special to her.
"She recognises that sharing stories about her own young people with young people is a great way to build a connection."
Mr Fields added: “Melania was very similar. She was engaging, she asked lots of questions, and the young people were willing to talk to her.
"And they even made some artwork together. It was really great to see and really great to have her take the message back to the US and what she’s seen us in the UK doing.
"This is the home of Scouts, and this is where it started, and for her to be able to take back what she experienced here is great.
"She said she really enjoyed [it] and remarked that some of the artwork took her back to when she was younger.”
He continued to tell People: "The children were earning their 'Go Wild' badges. They knew they were coming to meet the princess, and one of the young asked Mrs Trump: 'Are you the next princess?'
"That gives an idea of how little they knew about the situation."
LATEST ROYAL NEWS:
At the end of the session, the First Lady and the Princess of Wales handed out badges to the children.
“That will live with them for a very long time,” Mr Fields remarked.
The children gave each woman a Squirrels patch. Mr Fields also presented his Chief Scout necker to Mrs Trump.
"I took my chief scout necker and handed it to Mrs Trump, as she had brought a gift to the Scouts from the US and I wanted to give her something that was symbolic of the Scouts here that she could take back," he explained.
