Meghan Markle is set to feature on a star-studded panel in Texas for International Women's Day.

The Duchess of Sussex has been named as one of the keynote panellists at the South by Southwest (SXSW) series of festivals and conferences.

These will take place from March 8-16 in Austin, Texas, meaning that Meghan, 42, will likely be travelling from California to the Lone Star state.

The duchess lives in Montecito with her husband Prince Harry, 39, and their two children, Prince Archie, four, and Princess Lilibet, two.

SXSW celebrates the intersection of technology, film, television and music.

On International Women's Day, Meghan, along with Brooke Shields, Katie Couric, Errin Haines and Nancy Wang Yuen, will be forming a panel for a talk titled "Breaking Barriers, Shaping Narratives: How Women Lead On and Off the Screen".

Hugh Forrest, the Co-President and Chief Programming Officer, said: "Meghan, The Duchess of Sussex, Katie Couric, Brooke Shields, Nancy Wang Yuen, and Errin Haines are the perfect finishing touch to eight days of remarkable Keynote Speakers.

"We are so honoured to host this distinguished group on International Women’s Day for a significant discussion on the importance of representation in media and entertainment."

The panel was selected because they all champion human rights and gender equality.

SXSW is dedicated to helping creative people achieve their goals and was founded in 1987 in Austin, Texas.

This trip to Texas comes as Meghan recently travelled to Canada for the Invictus Games Vancouver Whistler 2025's One Year to Go celebrations.

She was joined by the Duke of Sussex while Archie and Lilibet stayed behind in the US.

Meghan also took a quick skiing trip with her close friends to mark the end of February.

The couple have also been busy with their new website, Sussex.com, which was launched several weeks ago.

This new website publicised Meghan appearing virtually in London to open a new wing of an animal charity.

Earlier in February, the mother-of-two made dumplings with Afghan female refugees.

A clip of the visit was subsequently posted on the Archewell Foundation website.

Meghan, an avowed feminist, usually steps out to mark International Women's Day each year.

For instance, in 2023 the 42-year-old visited the Los Angeles-based charity Harvest Home, which helps expectant mothers and their children.

One of Meghan's final engagements as a working royal took place on International Women's Day in 2020, when the duchess visited a school in Dagenham, East London, to speak about gender parity.
