Meghan Markle is set to launch a new cookery show in just weeks, it has been claimed.

After months of staying silent, the Duchess of Sussex made a surprise announcement earlier this week when she launched her new luxury lifestyle brand American Riviera Orchard.

Following hot on the heels of the headlines made by the new blog, a new Netflix series is now expected to be announced.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex's future with Netflix appeared uncertain last year

Questions were raised last year as to whether the couple's Netflix deal would survive, following the early decision by the Sussexes and Spotify to party ways.

Speculation was rife that Netflix were ready to also ditch Meghan and Harry and not renew their contracts with the streaming service.

But earlier this week Netflix CEO Reed Hastings said the company's deal with the couple had been a success.

"The documentary we did on them is still one of our most watched documentaries of all time on and huge, particularly in the UK, where people just devour everything about them," he said.

"They are controversial but that's usually a good thing."

He added: "You may love them or hate them, but you're watching.

"And I do think that they are also going to be very strong storytellers, with great exposure to media in terms of what people want to talk about, what they think about, and they're great at getting attention."
