It has not been confirmed whether the documentary will air in the UK

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are set to appear in a documentary special about Disneyland to celebrate its 70th anniversary.

It comes three months after the Duke and Duchess of Sussex took their children, Prince Archie, six, and Princess Lilibet, four, to the park for their daughter's birthday.

ABC News, which is owned by the Walt Disney Company, wrote in a press release: “Viewers will hear reflections on childhood visits to the park from some of Disney’s biggest fans including Hollywood’s Neil Patrick Harris, Jamie Lee Curtis, Jon Favreau, Patrick Warburton and Tiffany Haddish.

“And an exclusive message from Prince Harry and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, on what the park means to them and their family.”

The documentary is titled "The Happiest Story on Earth: 70 Years of Disneyland — A Special Edition of 20/20", and it will air on ABC News on September 21.

It is unclear yet whether the documentary will air in the UK so royal fans can hear from Harry, 41, and Meghan, 44.

Earlier this year, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex marked Princess Lilibet's fourth birthday with a trip to Disneyland.

On Instagram, Meghan shared a video from the family’s two-day visit, with Prince Archie also joining the celebrations.

The clip captured the foursome enjoying rides, sampling park treats and cutting into a Disney princess–inspired birthday cake.

The Duchess captioned her post: “Thank you @disneyland for giving our family two days of pure joy!”

She played Peggy Lee’s “It’s a Good Day” in the background, while emojis obscured the faces of Archie and Lilibet for safety concerns.

It is not clear what Meghan and Harry's connection to Disneyland is, other than their recent trip for Lilibet's birthday.

Other notable appearances in the documentary will include Julie Andrews, who famously played the title role in the 1964 classic film, Mary Poppins.

Ms Andrews is expected to discuss her memories of visiting the park with Walt Disney himself.

In addition, Josh Gad, the voice of Frozen’s Olaf, will chat about his experience “working” as a skipper on the Jungle Cruise attraction.
