The insider stated that Jessica Mulroney feels she suffered due to the spotlight the friendship put her under.
It comes as Jessica's marriage to her husband Ben is coming to an end after sixteen years together.
Jessica is said to have announced her separation from her husband to acquaintances at a social event in Toronto last month, that the Canadian style expert attended on her own.
