Meghan Markle appears in a new online video for coffee company Clevr Blends

Meghan Markle has been mocked by GB News hosts Emily Carver and Ben Leo after making a cameo appearance in a coffee company's social media clip.

The Duchess of Sussex features in a new video posted by coffee brand Clevr Blends, who the royal has previously invested money in.

The video, posted to the company's Instagram and TikTok feeds, features Meghan Markle in most of the shots, as the owner of the company and friend of Meghan, Grace Mendoza, discusses a "successful year" for the brand.

Meghan can be seen packing orders and working with the online team, as well as making a main feature at the end of the video, holding bags of coffee as she gives another staff member a fist bump.

Meghan and the team laugh as she then walks out of the shot.

Following her investment, Meghan Markle has endorsed the brand by sending samples to friends including celebrity interviewer Oprah Winfrey.

LATEST DEVELOPMENTS

The Duchess's surprise return to acting has sparked mixed reviews, with GB News hosts Ben Leo and Emily Carver calling the cameo "awkward".

Discussing the latest appearance from Meghan Markle, GB News Royal Correspondent Cameron Walker said she was "very much no longer a working royal".

Cameron said of the cameo: "Meghan Markle is brushing up on her acting skills there. I think it just shows that she is very much no longer a working member of the royal family, very much going down the Hollywood route and indeed the social media route.

"So this company Clevr Blends, she actually has invested a lot of money in this. She previously appeared in a video advertising this coffee brand earlier this year and again we've just seen her in this latest video with the co founder Hannah Mendoza, who it's thought is quite good friends with Meghan Markle.

"She's not mentioned, she's always in the background, and then does a bit of an awkward fist bump which doesn't quite work, and then a bit of a blooper.

"So I think this just shows Meghan is very much being Hollywood rather than the royal."

Emily agreed, sharing her own thoughts on the video: "A supporting actress once again. I'm very surprised at this because I thought Meghan Markle was going to be relaunching her online presence herself.

"I think the problem is that on social media, and to be a great influencer that wins the hearts and minds of the public, you have to show a lot of your genuine self. And Harry and Meghan appear quite performative.

"You actually have to bare your soul, not just those of the royal family."
