GB News host Emily Carver has taken aim at Meghan Markle in a scathing rant.

It comes after the Duchess of Sussex attended the Variety Power of Women event in Los Angeles, where she talked up the impact of Suits, a show she starred in.

Meghan spoke on the red carpet at the event and gave a hint on what could be in the pipeline for her and Prince Harry as they continue to venture into the entertainment industry.

The Duchess of Sussex says she wants to produce pieces “that make people feel, I want to say good, but it’s more than that.

She continued: “A cynic might say that she has made use of the Royal Family and now wants to continue on with her original ambitions.”

Meghan also addressed the success of Suits amid a streaming boom for the law-based drama.

Speaking on its success, the Duchess of Sussex said “good shows are ever lasting”, but admitted she has “no idea” why people are tuning into the show over 10 years since its original release.

Carver hit out at her remarks, suggesting the show’s renewed success is mainly a result of Meghan marrying Prince Harry.

The Duchess of Sussex had not yet met Harry when the show began in 2011, instead meeting him in 2016, while the sixth series sat in production.

“Someone with a bit of a sense of humour would be able to laugh at themselves and say, ‘it’s probably got something to do with the fact I married a Prince’.

“Just to show a little bit of self-awareness and the ability to laugh at oneself. That’s what is endearing.

“Not sort of vacuous statements about making people want to feel something.”

According to the Nielsen Streaming Charts, Suits remained in the top 10 for 12 weeks in a row as rumours mount over a possible spin-off.

Speaking on its renewed success, she said: “Isn’t it wild?”

She then added she had “no idea” why it was performing so strongly.

Meghan also took the time to pay tribute to the cast and crew, saying the production was “great to work on” and everyone had a “really fun time”.
