Meghan Markle has been hit with a cheeky response after she spoke candidly about a styling blunder on a recent episode of her podcast.

Cassandra Peterson, 73, more commonly known as her iconic horror character Elvira, took to social media to offer her advice after the Duchess of Sussex’s comments.

Taking to Instagram, Peterson shared a headline covering Meghan’s remark along with a glamorous image of her in costume.

She accompanied the post with a smug emoji and the caption: “Hey princess, if you ever need beauty advice from a queen just let me know”.

Her snarky comeback was prompted by a candid anecdote told by the Duchess of Susses during an April edition of her podcast, Confessions of a Female Founder.

In the episode, she spoke with her current hair colourist and businesswoman Kadi Lee about a costly mistake she made while attempting a new hairstyle during lockdown.

While attempting to dye her hair at home, the Duchess revealed she ended up with “very inky, almost Elvira-esque black.”

She then revealed it was ultimately this error that led her to meet Lee, soon after moving to California with Prince Harry.

However, lockdown meant the Duchess could not meet with her regular stylist, Serge Normant.

Determined to continue looking her best, Meghan endeavoured to take on the task of dying her hair herself.

I'm gonna look just like she does on the box,” she recalled thinking.

I texted Serge, and he said, ‘You need to see Kadi.’ And you came over. I mean, we were masked and all the things. It was such an interesting time, but I remember that day so well,” Meghan explained.

Meghan has not responded to Peterson’s cheeky comment but has updated fans on her family life in California.

On Sunday, the Duchess shared of her and her three-year-old daughter Lilibet holding hands as they walk towards a beehive.

Royal watchers were given a rare glimpse of Lilibet's face as the she turned towards her mother during the outing as she sported a pair of colourful rainbow wellies.

The footage shows them from behind as they approach the hive, before Meghan bends down to affectionately rub her daughter's back.

The sweet moment was accompanied by The Archies' song "Sugar Sugar" playing in the background as the Duchess shared this glimpse into their family life.

Elsewhere, Meghan's husband, Prince Harry, had jetted over to China to represent his sustainable travel organisation, Travalyst, at the Envision 2025 Global Partner Conference.

At the event, he emphasised the travel industry's responsibility to be "a force for good" and shared a personal reflection on the struggles of achieving "meaningful change".

"If there's one thing I've learned in my life, it's that meaningful change never comes easily. The true measure of our commitment is how we respond when the path becomes difficult. We must never give up," Harry said.
