Prince Harry has made a surprise solo trip to China, where he delivered a keynote speech for his sustainable travel organisation, Travalyst.
The Duke of Sussex's previously unannounced visit to Shanghai comes just as his father, King Charles, and Queen Camilla embarked on their royal tour to Canada.
Harry is experiencing a rare personal first as the engagement is part of his first visit to China.
During his address at the Envision 2025 Global Partner Conference, Harry spoke passionately about the urgent need for action on climate change.

"Climate change isn't just an environmental challenge it's a critical business emergency, costing the global economy $143 billion annually," the Duke told attendees.
He emphasised the travel industry's responsibility to be "a force for good" and shared a personal reflection on the struggles of achieving "meaningful change".
"If there's one thing I've learned in my life, it's that meaningful change never comes easily. The true measure of our commitment is how we respond when the path becomes difficult. We must never give up," Harry said.
He also noted that the Asia-Pacific region is "strongly positioned" to achieve climate targets before the 2030 deadline.

The timing of Harry's Shanghai appearance is particularly notable as it coincides with King Charles and Queen Camilla's arrival in Canada for their first royal tour since the King's accession to the throne.
Charles was greeted by Canadian dignitaries, including Prime Minister Mark Carney, and cheering crowds of supporters as he and Queen Camilla stepped onto North American soil.
Any question of a reunion between Harry and his father was already unlikely, given their seemingly ongoing rift, but the Prince's trip across the Pacific made that more than clear.

Harry’s feud with the rest of the Roayl Family appeared to only intensify after his most recent visit to the UK – where he suffered a bruising legal disappointment after failing to have his working royal security detail reinstated.
Upon returning to the US, the Duke took part in a bombshell interview where he claimed the King “won't speak to me because of this security stuff”.
He also suggested he “not know how much longer my father has” - in reference to Charles’ ongoing cancer treatment.
Meanwhile, Harry’s wife Meghan appears to have remained at home with their children as she took to Instagram with her three-year-old Lilibet.
