The actor was reportedly dropped from the crime series this month

After reports that A-list actor Tom Hardy had been fired from the Paramount+ series Mobland, it has been claimed that the star is firmly part of the family.

It had been reported that Mr Hardy had centred his conduct during the filming of season two, which wrapped back in March 2026.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the actor allegedly remained in his trailer for extended periods, leaving fellow cast members, including Helen Mirren and Pierce Brosnan, waiting on set.

A source claimed: “He kept the cast waiting, [which is] a power play. Keeping Pierce Brosnan, Helen Mirren, and others waiting is career suicide, I would wager."

It has also been suggested that Mr Hardy had been wanting input on scripts, leading to some friction between himself and writer Jez Butterworth.

A source told Variety that whilst Mr Hardy's suggestions were "often very sound," Mr Butterworth lacked time to address them, creating difficulties.

However, it has now been reported to Variety that sources close to the show have said the 48-year-old star was never let go.

Negotiations are allegedly still taking place regarding his involvement in a potential third season.

"Tom was not fired, the door is not closed for Season Three, and things are being worked through creatively," an insider told the publication.

Mr Hardy’s seemingly positive future on the series follows days of speculation after initial claims emerged that the Venom actor would not reprise his role as fixer Harry Da Souza.

Co-star Ms Mirren, who portrays matriarch Maeve Harrigan in the series, appeared to publicly back her co-star amid the controversy.

The Oscar-winning actress shared an image of Mr Hardy on Instagram, accompanied by the words: "Love you now and always, Helen."

The gesture came despite earlier claims that Ms Mirren had grown frustrated with delays during production.

Rumours of the pair's “deeper rift”, which included rumoured political disagreements over Gaza, have now been squashed.

"I've never heard of anything political," one insider told Metro, with another adding that Ms Mirren "certainly isn't going to be one who stamps her feet" over such matters.

Executive producer Guy Ritchie is understood to be instrumental in efforts to retain Mr Hardy for the show's future.

According to Variety, a production source indicated that Mr Ritchie is "probably pushing David Glasser to make it work", given his positive working relationship with the actor.

Despite his reputation for being challenging on set, insiders maintain the actor has "a good heart", and the production team is keen to resolve outstanding issues.
