The Duchess of Sussex described this unhurried approach as 'its own kind of resolution' emphasising that 'how you start matters'

Meghan Markle has revealed she intends to embrace a slower rhythm at the start of 2026, following what proved to be a particularly eventful twelve months for the Duchess of Sussex.

The past year saw her make a much-anticipated comeback to Instagram, debut her lifestyle venture As Ever, and premiere her Netflix programme With Love, Meghan.

In her most recent communication to As Ever subscribers, the Duchess of Sussex signalled her desire for a more measured approach to the new year.

The newsletter arrives after the Sussex family celebrated the festive period together at their California residence.

"With the rush of the holiday season behind us, we look ahead with an intention to begin the new year at a gentler pace," the Duchess wrote in the message.

She encouraged readers to create "space for moments that matter - shared over a cup of tea, by candlelight, or simply taking a pause when the day allows."

Alongside her reflections, the newsletter featured promotional links directing subscribers to the As Ever product range, including scented candles, herbal tea blends and mulling spice kits from her lifestyle brand.

The Duchess has long been familiar with the tradition of setting resolutions for the new year. During her time running The Tig, her personal lifestyle blog, she penned a candid post on 1 January 2016 outlining her annual goals.

"Stop biting my nails. Stop swearing. Re-learn French. These make my New Year's resolution list nearly (AKA actually every) single year," she admitted at the time.

She confessed that profanity tended to emerge when she felt overworked or after enjoying a few drinks, whilst the nail-biting habit surfaced during turbulent flights or stressful periods.

"It's unladylike. But then again, so is the swearing," she wrote with characteristic self-deprecation.

The Duchess and Prince Harry spent the Christmas period at their Montecito mansion alongside their two children, Prince Archie, aged six, and four-year-old Princess Lilibet.

In a message distributed to subscribers on Christmas Day, Meghan shared intimate details of their family traditions, describing how she had been "nibbling the remnants of our Christmas Eve feast (dim sum this year)" whilst wrapping presents.

She recounted tiptoeing downstairs with her husband to ensure evidence remained that "Santa" had consumed his biscuits and the reindeer had eaten their carrots.
