England’s women’s football team returned to the capital on Monday after securing back-to-back European titles with a penalty shoot-out win in Switzerland on Sunday.
The Lionesses waved to thousands of gathered fans from an open-top bus as they made their way up the Mall towards Buckingham Palace.

Missing from the celebrations were any senior members of the Royal Family, who have been fulsome in their praise of the Lionesses throughout their 2025 Euros campaign.
However, England's women were far from forgotten as the King and Queen issued further congratulations during the parade.
"Welcome home, ladies," the simple message, shared across social media, read.
The statement was followed up by a St George’s Cross flag and trophy emoji.

The game remained deadlocked through regulation and extra-time, before being decided in the Lionesses favour by a tense penalty shootout.
Watching on in the stadium was Prince William and Princess Charlotte, who was attending her first overseas football match alongside her father.
Prince George is usually seen by William’s side at footballing events, previously joining the Prince of Wales as they spectated their beloved club Aston Villa's bittersweet Champion's League campaign earlier this year.
This time, however, Charlotte led the next generations of the Royal Family at the St Jakob-Park stadium in Switzerland on Sunday.
Following the Lionesses victory, William and Charlotte issued a rare joint statement congratulating the team.
