The US President took a swipe at 'not great people' outside the UK

Donald Trump appeared to take a swipe at Meghan Markle and Prince Harry during his UK trip.

During his press conference with Prime Minister Keir Starmer in Scotland, the US President lavished praise on the Royal Family, including King Charles.

However, Trump also took a swipe at "not great people" outside the UK, which many royal watchers believed to be a swipe at the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

The Prime Minister looked awkward but chose not to say anything in response.

During the press conference, President Trump said: "Being with Charles, Camilla and everybody, I've got to know because of four years [as President] and now six months.

"I've got to know a lot of the family members. They are great people. They are really great people."

In an apparent swipe towards the Sussexes, Trump added: "And in that sense I think the UK is very lucky.

"You could have people that weren't great people. I don't know if I can say that, but you could have people that weren't."

One social media user said of Trump's words: "I love the shade President Trump throws at Prince Harry & Meghan Markle."

Another wrote they were sure that Trump was "calling them out".

In February, Prince Harry appeared to make a sly dig at the US President after he called the Duchess of Sussex "terrible".

The Duke of Sussex used his speech at the opening ceremony of the Invictus Games in Canada to complain about "weak moral character in the world".

These comments were widely viewed as a dig at President Trump.

Trump's "terrible" comment about Meghan was made after he was asked about Prince Harry's deportation amid the Duke of Sussex's historical drug use.

"I don't want to do that. He's got enough problems with his wife. She's terrible," the President said.

Trump has also previously said that he is "not a fan" of Meghan, claiming that "Harry is whipped" and "is being led around by his nose".
