King Charles has been issued a warning that he will be "judged" by his handling of the feud between Prince Harry, Meghan Markle and the Royal Family.
The foreboding analysis comes as it emerged the Duke of Sussex had offered to share his diary with Buckingham Palace.
It followed the news that representatives of the King and Prince Harry had met in secret London meeting for peace talks in early July.
Harry’s offer is believed to be a bid to "deconflict" his engagements with those of the Royal Family, should he and the King wish to fix a date to meet face to face.

The offer has also reportedly have been extended to Prince William and Kensington Palace.
To that end, veteran journalist Eleanor Mills has pleaded with the King and William to accept the "olive branch" offered by Harry.
"There is nothing sadder or more depressing than a family feud," she began in her piece.
The writer urged that they: "Should not just accept Harry’s olive branch... but do so quickly."

Mills argued in The Telegraph that family relationships were a commonality in all people, regardless of one’s status or wealth, and therefore brought the royal feud into close focus.
"Blood is thicker than water. Our kin are our kin," she stressed.
Commiserating about challenges facing the royals, the writer observed that the Royal Family should come together to support one another.
She also wrote that William and Harry’s children "should know each other".
The King was advised to accept Harry's apparent offer 'quickly'
"This is a time for the Royal family to pull together; to let bygones be bygones," she declared.
Mills continued with a warning for King Charles that he may cause damage to his and the Royal Family's future reputation if his feud with Harry goes unhealed.
"That is the yardstick by which you will be judged. We may not all be kings, but we all know what family is about," she said.
The journalists plea to the King and Prince William comes as it was revealed Harry had made made his diary sharing offer to avoid clashes with the Royal Family.

As well as clear space for future meetings, Harry’s peace gesture would also avoid embarrassing overlaps between the Sussex camp and the royals at home.
"Before that meeting between their aides in London, conflicts of interest or clashes of publicity were relished and even perhaps encouraged by the Sussexes," a source characterised.
"Now, Harry has shifted into a new way of thinking. The tone is now all about ‘deconflicting’ with his family," they explained.
"That’s why his household agreed to draw up a ‘grid’ of his activities and share them with Buckingham Palace, and by extension with Kensington Palace," the source told the Daily Mail.
