The Duke and Duchess of Sussex still use their royal titles despite stepping down from duties over three years ago

King Charles "does not want to humiliate" Prince Harry and Meghan Markle by stripping their royal titles, sources have claimed.

Some royal fans have called for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to be stripped of their titles now that they are no longer working royals.

One insider who knows the King says he is "not a punitive man" and would "never want to humiliate" Harry and Meghan.

This comes as a "naming row" ensued after Omid Scobie's sensational book Endgame was released on Tuesday.

Princess Kate and King Charles were named as the two members of the Royal Family who allegedly raised "concerns" over Prince Archie's skin colour in the Dutch translation of the book.

Scobie denied responsibility for the names being included, although this was contradicted by the Dutch translator who said "the names of the royals were there in black and white" when she received the manuscript.

Meghan originally accused an unnamed member of the Royal Family of these claims in her 2021 interview with Oprah Winfrey.

But the duke and duchess intentionally chose to not name any individuals that were allegedly involved.

Buckingham Palace is said to be "considering all options" as a result of the new bombshell book.

However, sources have insisted that stripping the Duke and Duchess of Sussex of their titles is not an option.

"That is just something that would not be considered," they told The Mail.

Queen Elizabeth II previously stripped her grandson and Meghan of their HRH titles, insisting they could not use them commercially.

If Meghan were to lose her duchess title, she could be entitled to call herself Princess Henry, similar to Princess Michael of Kent who is married to Prince Michael of Kent.

After Meghan and Harry stepped down as working royals in 2020, they moved to California with their eldest son.

In June 2024, the couple welcomed their second child, a girl named Princess Lilibet Diana.
