King Charles has been warned by a royal commentator not to make a “serious mistake” in how he handles Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson’s removal from Royal Lodge.
The pair are reported to have asked for two separate homes, as Andrew looks set to take up residence at Frogmore Cottage and Ms Ferguson wants Adelaide Cottage.
But royal commentator, Jennie Bond, has warned the King against making a mistake by giving the pair two royal residences.
Bond said: “Andrew and Sarah are grown-ups with their own money and resources. They should be made to fend for themselves and not rely on the King and the goodwill of the Crown Estate.

“I think it would be a serious mistake if the King and the Palace agreed to such a brazen demand.
“You have to ask yourself whether Andrew and Sarah are completely deaf to public opinion.
“There is genuine outrage from the public and, indeed several prominent members of Parliament about the fact that they have lied about their friendship with Jeffrey Epstein.
“And yet they seem to think they are entitled to not just one, but two, magnificent homes in the extremely royal surroundings of Windsor Great Park, almost in the shadow of the Castle itself.
“It is an audacious demand —and one that the Palace should outright reject.”
Andrew signed a lease with the Crown Estate for Royal Lodge in 2003 which stipulated the property is legally his for 75 years unless he chooses to voluntarily leave.

King Charles has been pushing for his brother to vacate the 30-room mansion for years.
Earlier this month, the pair were forced to stop using their royal titles amid a fresh wave of scrutiny.
It was also revealed that since moving into Royal Lodge, Andrew has only made “peppercorn” payments for the property after he spent an initial £1million on the lease in 2003.

The pair live together despite being divorced and have stayed at Royal Lodge together since 2008.
However, the immense pressure on the two of them appears to be taking its toll.
A friend close to the pair revealed: “It's incredible that they are willing to go their own separate ways.
“But it indicates that they have been under immense strain this year and need a break from one another. It's a fresh start for both.”
