The trio visited Royal Lodge ahead of Princess Beatrice's party at Windsor Castle

Prince Andrew hosted Jeffrey Epstein, Ghislaine Maxwell and Harvey Weinstein at Royal Lodge.

The trio visited the mansion in Windsor as part of Princess Beatrice's masked ball for her 18th birthday celebrations in 2006, two months after a US arrest warrant had been issued for Epstein for the sexual assault of a minor.

It had previously been reported that the trio visited Windsor Castle for the event, but not that they had attended Andrew's private home.

Epstein, Maxwell and Weinstein are said to have visited Royal Lodge ahead of the main party, which took place in the state rooms of Windsor Castle, involving a champagne reception and banquet.

Eight days after the event, Epstein was arrested by police in Florida.

Addressing why he invited the disgraced financier to his daughter's 18th birthday, Andrew told the BBC in a 2019 Newsnight interview: "Certainly I wasn't aware when the invitation was issued what was going on in the United States, and I wasn't aware until the media picked up on it because he never said anything about it."

The prince relinquished his titles earlier this month following scrutiny about his links with Epstein following the posthumous publication of Virginia Giuffre's memoir.

Ms Giuffre wrote in the memoir that she was forced to have sex with Andrew on three separate occasions, including once with Epstein and "eight other young girls".

The royal has consistently denied any wrongdoing, having reached a financial settlement with Ms Giuffre in 2022 made without any admission of liability.

Three years prior, the 65-year-old said he did not remember meeting Ms Giuffre "at all" and that they "never had any sort of sexual contact".

Epstein and Maxwell appeared to be regular guests at royal residences in the late 1990s and early 2000s, with an image of the pair at Balmoral released by prosecutors during Maxwell's sex trafficking trial.

The picture is believed to have been taken in 1999, when Andrew invited the couple to stay at the private Highland estate.

Epstein was a guest at Windsor Castle in 2000, when Andrew hosted a birthday event for Maxwell at Sandringham, the monarch's private country retreat in Norfolk.

Maxwell visited Buckingham Palace as part of a private tour in 2002, believed to be organised by the prince.

Andrew confirmed he travelled to Epstein's private island on his jet, staying at his Palm Beach mansion.

He also visited Maxwell's home at Belgravia in London.

Epstein died by suicide in a New York jail cell in August 2019, while awaiting trial on sex trafficking cases.

In 2008, he reached a plea deal with prosecutors after the parents of a 14-year-old told police that the disgraced financier molested their daughter at his Palm Beach house.

Maxwell is currently serving a 20-year prison sentence in the US for recruiting and trafficking four teenage girls for sexual abuse by Epstein, her then boyfriend.

Weinstein has been convicted of sexual assault by courts in Los Angeles and New York, but has secured a retrial on some of his convictions.
