The royal biscuits contain wholemeal flour, egg and chicken stock, according to the castle's website, which describes them as "100 per cent natural biscuits, hand-baked in the Balmoral Castle kitchens, have been lovingly made in small batches for your four-legged prince or princess."

A Facebook announcement states: "Each bag contains 75g of wholesome goodness your dog will love."

The collection extends beyond food to include a tweed collar priced at £32, matching lead at £40, treat pouch for £30, and a decorative feeding bowl featuring the coat of arms at £28.

The adoption followed the loss of Beth, one of her rescue terriers.

The Queen, who serves as patron of Battersea, adopted Beth in 2011, followed by another terrier named Bluebell in 2012.

Buckingham Palace acknowledged Beth's passing in November, stating: "A sad farewell to Beth, The Queen's much-loved companion from Battersea Dogs and Cats Home who brought such joy, whether on walkies, helping on official duties, or curled up by the fire."
