Harry is yet to confirm whether he will attend the Coronation

King Charles III is open to the absence of his second son, Prince Harry, at his upcoming Coronation, according to a royal expert.

The monarch harbours concerns over the estranged Duke being “pushed over the edge”, according to Lady Colin Campbell.

She claims the King understands Harry has “major problems” and is therefore keen to not exert too much pressure.

Speaking on GB News, she said: “I think in fairness, the King understands that his son is troubled and his son has major problems.

“He doesn’t want to do anything that would push him over the edge into the possibility of doing something irrevocable.

“I understand the King’s concerns. Every parent will understand the concerns of a parent for a very troubled child.”

It comes after Harry and Meghan Markle gave the biggest indication yet they will not be present at King Charles’s Coronation.

The couple have remained silent following a statement confirming they received an invitation to attend the historic event.

The RSVP date has now been missed, with a cut-off date set for April 3.

Staff have still not been told whether the Sussexes will not attend despite the celebration now just one month away.

A source told the Daily Mail: “Everything is still up in the air and there’s only a month to go.

“All people have been told is that ‘it should hopefully be resolved soon’.

But in the meantime the teams are trying to finalise plans for 2,000 guests, many of whom are international heads of state and VIPs. It's a headache."

The couple aren’t the only ones who reportedly won’t be making the trip across the pond for the celebration, with US President Joe Biden confirming he will not be present.

He has instead been invited for a state visit, the White House has confirmed.

First Lady Jill Biden will be representing the US instead at the Coronation.

Jean-Pierre said that Biden had a telephone call of 25-30 minutes with the King.

She said: “He congratulated the King on his upcoming coronation, they have a very friendly conversation, he has a good relationship with the King.

“He talked about how he enjoyed visiting the Queen back in 2021 when he and the First Lady came to Windsor and he hoped to visit again soon.

“Actually, during the call the King offered for him to come and do a state visit which the president accepted.
