Prince William opened up about family life behind Palace walls

Princess Kate undertakes the majority of school runs for the couple's three children, Prince William has disclosed.

Speaking candidly about domestic arrangements, the heir to the throne acknowledged that whilst parental responsibilities are divided between them, the Princess of Wales shoulders more of the daily school transport duties.

"School run most days, I mean, Catherine and I share it, but she probably does the bulk of it," William told Brazilian presenter Luciano Huck.

The prince detailed his own contributions to family life, including "play dates, taxi driver, sports days, matches, playing in the garden when I can."

Elsewhere in the interview, William discussed his policy of transparency when addressing difficult family matters with Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, 10, and Prince Louis, seven.

Prince William explained: "Hiding stuff from them doesn't work. Sometimes you feel you're oversharing with the children [and] you probably shouldn't."

By explaining emotions and circumstances to their children, William believes they gain "a bigger picture" which helps them "relax more into it rather than being really anxious about 'what are you hiding from me?'"

"Every family has its own difficulties and its own challenges," William said, describing the decision-making process as "a balancing act."

The Princess of Wales underwent treatment for cancer last year following abdominal surgery, whilst King Charles continues receiving treatment for his own diagnosis.

William reflected on the parental dilemma of disclosure: "How much do I say? What do I say? When do I say it?"

He noted that withholding information often generates "a lot more questions when there are no answers."

The Waleses maintain strict technology boundaries, with none of the three children currently possessing mobile phones.

Prince George may receive restricted phone privileges when he begins secondary school next year, though William emphasised any device would feature "limited access."

"It's getting to the point where it's becoming a little bit of a tense issue, but I think he understands why," the prince revealed.

William expressed particular concern about unrestricted internet access, stating: "I think children can access too much stuff they don't need to see online."

Kate recently highlighted similar worries about digital devices potentially hampering young children's development in an essay for her Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood.
