Princess Kate and Queen Camilla have been given gifts from Ukraine with a special meaning.

The royals were gifted custom-made top hats by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.

The UK embassy based in Kyiv received the gifts on behalf of Camilla and the Princess of Wales.

Ruslan Baginskiy, a Ukrainian headwear and accessory designer made the top hats to fit with the Queen and Kate’s personal style.

The Queen’s black beret was decorated with violet flowers and Kate’s green boater hat was styled with a delicate white flower.

Mr Baginskiy said about the Princess of Wales’s hat: “A custom-made green boater hat- traditional shape that makes part of the silhouette drawn by folk Ukrainian clothing; decorated with handcrafted white forsythia flowers in silk.

“Forsythia, one of the ‘Pervotsvit’ flowers (English for: first-to-bloom) in Ukrainian spring- symbolic of life and hope.”

Princess Kate wore a similar wide-brimmed green hat for the King’s Birthday Parade as she rode alongside Camilla who was also wearing a small black decorated hat.

Another said: “Those are absolutely beautiful,” and a third said: “What a lovely gesture!”

Baginskiy, 34, founded his brand in 2015; his pieces are sold in Harrods with prices starting from £220 to £490.

At the Easter Sunday Service 2023, Kate changed up her style with a Mayfair Pillbox hat by Lock & Co.

The dark blue hat matched with her blue and cream earrings and cobalt blue coat dress.
