Former Motorhead guitarist Phil Campbell has died aged 64, his family have confirmed.
The rock icon's death follows a "long and courageous" battle after complex surgery.
A statement read: "It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved father, Philip Anthony Campbell, who passed away peacefully last night following a long and courageous battle in intensive care after a complex major operation.
"Phil was a devoted husband, a wonderful father, and a proud and loving grandfather, known affectionately as 'Bampi'.

"He was deeply loved by all who knew him and will be missed immensely. His legacy, music and the memories he created with so many will live on forever.
"We kindly ask that our family’s privacy is respected during this incredibly difficult time."
The statement was released by Phil Campbell and the B****** Sons, a band that featured Campbell alongside his three sons, Todd, Dane and Tyla.
Campbell, who was born in Pontypridd, Wales in 1961, was the guitarist for legendary rock band Motorhead from 1984 until the band split in 2015, following the death of frontman Lemmy Kilmister.

The iconic guitarist, who was inspired by Tony Iommi and Jimi Hendrix as a youngster, made his debut for Motorhead in their compilation No Remorse, in which he co-wrote and played four songs.
Two years later, in 1986, Campbell's full studio debut came with the release of Motorhead's Orgasmatron.
He would go on to feature in 16 studio albums with Motorhead, the last of which came in 2015 called Black Magic.
Tributes quickly poured in for the legendary guitarist, with one fan writing: "RIP Amigo! We love you!"

While a fourth paid tribute to Campbell's former bandmate, Lemmy: "I will carry forever in my mind the concert in Milan with Judas Priest, 2 years ago. Pure fire, pure energy. Today we’ve lost a legend, thank you for everything Phil. Say hi to Lemmy from us."
Campbell formed the band, Phil Campbell and the B****** Sons, in the aftermath of Lemmy's death, with the band releasing four albums and an EP, the most recent of which coming in 2023.
The rockstar also released a solo album, Old Lions Still Roar, in 2019.
In 2023, Campbell spoke candidly on his struggles since Motorhead disbanded: "For about four months [after Motorhead broke up] I didn’t know what to do. I was so exhausted I considered retiring completely,” he told Classic Rock.
"But my eldest boy, Todd, had a 30th birthday party in Cardiff, there was a live band we got up and jammed some covers, and it felt so good we carried on.
"In fact the party was two years before Lem passed away, but it was the start of the B****** Sons."
