Princess Kate and Prince William will be “unable to resist the temptation to spoil” their children in their new Forest Lodge home, according to a royal commentator.
The Prince and Princess of Wales completed their move to Forest Lodge from Adelaide Cottage in November.
The change of location came after a difficult 2024 for the future King and Queen, which saw Kate dealing with a cancer diagnosis, before revealing she was in remission in January 2025.
The move to their so-called “forever home,” has made this year meaningful, according to royal commentator Jennie Bond, who said: “This will be a special year for the family in their new home, Forest Lodge. Putting up Christmas decorations is always exciting, but decorating a new house is doubly so.

“I’m sure they’ll also be putting up decorations at Anmer Hall in Norfolk, but I wonder whether they will spend a bit more time than usual in their Windsor home during the school holidays? It must still be fresh and new to them.
“I doubt whether William and Catherine will be able to resist the temptation to spoil them, just as all young parents enjoy spoiling their children – if they are fortunate enough to have the money.”
The former BBC royal correspondent went to speak about the gifts each child would like: “I imagine George will be hoping for some more video games – William has revealed that is elder son is very keen on computer games.
“Charlotte will probably be happy with anything sporty. She loves her soccer and gymnastics and horse riding. She’s also very keen on dance.
“As for Louis, he is very enthused about the trampoline – so maybe a small indoor trampoline would go down well. But I’m sure their parents will come up with all sorts of fun surprises for the kids.”
The move has not been plain sailing for the royal couple, as local residents have been left in “disquiet” after being forced to take diversions around the new royal home.

Bond continued to The Mirror: “William and Catherine must be aware that there is some local disquiet about the diversion around their house.
“But it was only to be expected - and I’m sure people will soon get used to the longer route and understand the need for security."
Near the new home, The Christmas Tree Shop has historically operated but since the royals have moved in, shoppers have been forced to take a mile-long diversion due to security personal.

Temporary traffic management using cones has created hazardous conditions, according to area residents. "I have already seen a few near misses where people have driven the wrong side of the cones," one local observed.
A resident told the Mail: "A car was parked and running both days with what looked like two plain-clothes officers inside to prevent anyone going into the lodge's grounds.
