Princess Kate's fashion will continue to capture public attention, despite Kensington Palace's preference for focusing on the Princess of Wales's actions, a royal commentator has claimed.

Gareth Russell, a respected royal commentator, spoke exclusively to GB News about the longstanding dynamic between the public’s fascination with the fashion choices of the Royal Family and the Palace's efforts to highlight their charitable work and actions instead of their attire.

“I can understand that from any public figure’s perspective, if they’re involved in charity work, they probably don’t want the bulk of the piece to be about what they’re wearing,” Russell exclusively told GB News.

“But at the same time, when a member of the Royal Family wears a new brand or an up-and-coming brand or a British brand, it can do an awful lot for that brand’s sales.

“So I don’t think we’ll ever see a point where there aren’t pieces being written about what the royals are wearing.”

These comments come amid ongoing debates about the balance between the Royal Family’s focus on charitable endeavours and the public’s intense interest in their wardrobes.

Princess Kate, in particular, has consistently been at the centre of these conversations, with her fashion choices often making headlines as much as her charitable engagements.

Kate's fashion has long been regarded as a significant aspect of her public image.

As the Princess of Wales, she is often seen wearing pieces that combine both classic elegance and contemporary style.

From affordable high-street brands like Zara to luxury designers such as Alexander McQueen, Kate’s style choices are noted for their timeless appeal, often leading to what is commonly referred to as the "Kate Effect," where items she wears quickly sell out due to public demand.

Her fashion choices have also supported British designers and up-and-coming brands, which has further fueled the media’s interest in her wardrobe.

In this way, the Princess has inadvertently played a key role in boosting the profiles of brands she endorses through her fashion choices, whether intentional or not.

While Kensington Palace has made it clear that they prefer attention to be on Kate’s actions, particularly her philanthropic efforts, her style remains a part of her broader influence.

As Russell points out, it is unlikely that the focus on her fashion will ever fade, regardless of the Palace's wishes.

In the modern media age, royal style has become inextricably linked with public perception, and Princess Kate's wardrobe will likely remain a frequent topic of conversation for the foreseeable future.

This interplay between the Princess’s charitable work and her fashion choices demonstrates the modern complexities of royal duties in an age where image and actions are often equally scrutinised.
