Highland Council has taken down a commemorative plaque honouring Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor from Inverness Town House, with the item now held in storage at the building.
The plaque marked the former prince's 2018 visit to the city centre venue, where he attended celebrations for the completion of renovation works.
Council officials confirmed the removal took place on Wednesday, almost a week after Andrew's arrest on suspicion of misconduct in public office.
A Highland Council spokesman said: "The plaque was removed by the council on Wednesday February 25."

He added: "The plaque is in storage in the Town House."
The decision follows Andrew being taken into custody last week amid allegations concerning his conduct during his tenure as trade envoy.
Authorities allege Andrew passed sensitive information to the convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein while serving in his official diplomatic role.
The former prince has denied any wrongdoing in connection with the allegations.
His arrest came months after King Charles announced in October that he would remove his brother's royal titles, which included the Earl of Inverness designation.
The stripping of titles represented a significant distancing of the Royal Family from Andrew, who had already stepped back from public duties in previous years.

The misconduct in public office charge relates specifically to his period as Britain's trade envoy, a role that saw him represent UK commercial interests abroad before he departed from official royal engagements.
Across Scotland, other local authorities are now examining similar commemorative markers connected to Andrew's previous official visits.
Dumfries and Galloway Council acknowledged a plaque exists at Castle Douglas Primary School, which the former Duke of York opened during an earlier engagement.
