The image showed the Princess of York smiling in the sunshine, dressed in a delicate pink floral Monique Lhuillier gown, which at the time was priced at £2,705.63.
Captioning the image, Edoardo wrote: “Happy Birthday to my BEAUTIFUL wife. You are the greatest. We love you so much. E,W,S,A xxxx.”
The affectionate sign-off stands for Edoardo himself, his son Christopher Woolf (known as Wolfie), and the two daughters he shares with Beatrice, Sienna, who was born in 2021, and baby Athena, who arrived earlier this year.
The sweet inclusion of Wolfie in the birthday message was a touching nod to the close bond Beatrice has formed with her stepson, whom she has helped raise since marrying Edoardo in 2020.

The Princess has spoken warmly in the past about her blended family, and the couple have made clear efforts to involve Wolfie in key moments of their lives, from royal events to family holidays.
The sign-off style appears to be inspired by the Prince and Princess of Wales, who often sign their social media posts with initials as a personal touch.
For example, Prince William recently used “G, C & L” to represent Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis in a Father’s Day message, while the couple frequently sign off with “W” and “C” for William and Catherine.
Edoardo’s message was shared on Friday, August 8, as Beatrice celebrated her birthday privately with her family.

It followed an earlier public tribute from her mother, Sarah Ferguson, who also posted on Instagram to mark the occasion.
Accompanied by a video of the pair smiling and hugging at a Youth Impact Council event, the Duchess of York wrote: “There’s nothing quite like holding you in my arms and feeling the incredible bond we’ve shared since the day you were born… You make me so proud to be your mum, and I feel endlessly grateful for the woman you’ve become.”
At the time of writing, there had been no public messages from Beatrice’s sister, Princess Eugenie or from Buckingham Palace or Kensington Palace — a reflection of Beatrice’s non-working royal status.
Even so, the birthday wishes from Edoardo and Sarah offered rare personal glimpses into the Princess’s close-knit family life and highlighted the quiet affection surrounding her behind the scenes.
