The President has repeatedly expressed his admiration for the late sovereign

A newly published biography by Robert Hardman reveals that President Donald Trump keeps a reproduction of Queen Elizabeth II's final official portrait displayed in his Mar-a-Lago residence in Florida.

According to Mr Hardman's book, Elizabeth II: In Private. In Public. The Inside Story, the American President sought a "permanent reminder" of the late monarch, who died in September 2022.

The artwork now hangs in the dining room of President Trump's Florida estate, positioned above a painting depicting a medieval vessel.

"She was so great. I wanted to hang her picture in a room where there is no one else on the wall," the US President reportedly explained to the biographer.

The portrait was created by Polish-British artist Basia Kaczmarowska-Hamilton, who sat with the Queen just four months before her death.

Mr Hardman's book explains that the painting was initially commissioned for London's Polish Institute, but the monarch was so pleased with the finished work that she asked to retain it.

The original artwork continues to hang at Windsor Castle, whilst a reproduction was subsequently delivered to the Polish Institute as originally planned.

The artist also provided President Trump with his own reproduction of the portrait, according to Mr Hardman's account, making it one of only a small number of copies in existence.

President Trump has repeatedly expressed his admiration for the late sovereign.

Following her death in 2022, he issued a statement praising her, declaring: "What a grand and beautiful lady she was – there was nobody like her!"

He added that he and his wife would "always cherish our time together with the Queen, and never forget Her Majesty's generous friendship, great wisdom, and wonderful sense of humor."

During his second official state visit to Britain in September 2025, President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump spent 10 minutes in reflection at the Queen's burial site in St George's Chapel, with the president describing the visit as a "great honour."
